ANDAZ, MAUI

Workspace11 worked with The Rockwell Group to design, engineer, and fabricate the feature spiral staircase in the main lobby for the Andaz Maui. The stair design, based on the interior structure of a nautilus shell, is a free-floating form fabricated from cold molded white oak using the same techniques used to build a ship’s hull. The internal structure is engineered from curved CNC steel tubes. The guardrail was created using curved glass panels with custom machined bronze brackets.
